I was honoured to learn on Friday that for the sixth year I have been awarded the VMware vExpert status.  I would like to congratulate the fellow vExperts and welcome any new vExperts to the group.

The VMware vExpert status isn’t a qualification or an award for knowledge but an award given by VMware for community members in recognition for their input to the VMware community. In VMware’s own words:

The judges selected people who were particularly engaged with their community and who had developed a substantial personal platform of influence in those communities

Taking an active part within the community that I have found so valuable is very important to me, it can be very easy to use the resources you find online to help you and further your career but I feel it is equally as important to give something back.

During 2015 I have continued to take an active part in the VMware User Group, published my second book, blogged and spoke at a number conferences or user groups all about technology that I love.

I am looking forward to taking an active part in the community during 2016 and I look forward to catching up with my customers and fellow community members at shows and events throughout the year.
