The new meeting experiences inside Microsoft Teams are starting to hit tenants now. These new features will allow for a more immersive meeting experience using Together mode to superimpose everybody into an auditorium or for the new 7×7 person view.
Microsoft has done a lot of research into remote meeting fatigue and it is believed that together mode can help reduce this by reducing background distractions. You can read more on that here >> https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2020/07/08/future-work-good-challenging-unknown/

To benefit from these new features you need to ensure you have enabled the New Meeting Experience in your Team settings as illustrated below.

Once you have done this you will be able to enable either Together mode or the Large gallery mode in meetings of more than 5 people by selecting them from the more options menu (Three ellipses) at the top of your call.

We received the updates this morning and are having fun playing with the new experience, time will tell whether it relieves fatigue after a days worth of video calls!
