Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow:

Amber is shaving her head for Cancer Research UK

Some challenges push you out of your comfort zone. Others ask you to do something incredibly brave.

On 22nd July, our People Partner, Amber, will be shaving her head to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

If you’ve ever met Amber, you’ll know she’s always putting other people first. Whether she’s supporting our team, checking in on colleagues or helping make Kascade a brilliant place to work, she’s someone who genuinely cares about people. So it probably won’t surprise anyone that she’s taking on this challenge to support a cause that’s touched so many lives.

Shaving your head isn’t an easy decision. It’s something personal, visible and, for many people, a little daunting. But that’s exactly why Amber is doing it. She wants to raise as much awareness and money as possible for Cancer Research UK, helping fund the life-changing research that’s improving cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment every day.

“This is yet another example of Amber going above and beyond for people. A truly selfless act and I couldn’t be more proud of her” – Jennifer Bennett, Chief People Officer

Why it matters

Cancer affects far too many families. In fact, one in two people will receive a cancer diagnosis during their lifetime. Most of us know someone who’s been affected, whether that’s a family member, friend or colleague.

Every donation helps Cancer Research UK continue funding the researchers, scientists and clinical trials that are giving more people hope and better outcomes.

“I like many others have personally been impacted by Cancer when my gramp suffered with bladder cancer before it metastasised to his brain in 2018; he sadly passed in 2019. My husbands grandad also sadly passed in 2019 from bone cancer.” – Amber Price

How you can help

If you’d like to support Amber, every donation makes a difference. Whether it’s £5, £10 or whatever you can spare, it all goes towards helping Cancer Research UK continue its vital work.

If you can’t donate, sharing Amber’s fundraising page is another fantastic way to help spread the word.

We’re incredibly proud of Amber for taking on such a brave challenge, and we know she’ll have the whole Kascade team cheering her on.
